Kitega Community Centre welcomes volunteers from all around the world, and it relies on volunteers to achieve its goals. Opportunities include placements in our Education, Community Outreach, Building and Infrastructure Improvements, and Healthcare programs. You are also welcome to suggest relevant projects that you wish to carry out.
We require no formal qualifications, however, volunteers should be over 18 years old. Special consideration is given to individuals below 18 years old and who are traveling with a team, group or family.
QUALITIES WE'RE LOOKING FOR
The background of our volunteers should be reputable. This is because need to make sure we are engaging the right partners in our initiatives.
It is imperative that our volunteers possess the ability to work under minimal supervision and can initiate, lead and complete assignments on their own.
CREATIVITY AND MOTIVATION
We love working with people that are creative and are motivated to implement projects that benefit the community
We value working with people that are good communicators. This goes a long way because many of the children at the Centre are not fluent in English.
Our volunteers should be able to attune to the values, beliefs of people from different cultures in the Centre and interact with empathy and understanding.
As a volunteer, friendliness is a key requirement. We also hope to partner with people who have a desire to make a difference in the lives of disadvantaged children and their communities.
