Awakening Hope: The VICOBAPlus Camp 2025
They came carrying stories, laughter, and the quiet fire of change — VICOBAPlus members from communities across Uganda, women and men united by a shared vision of transformation. Over one powerful weekend, the VICOBAPlus Camp 2025 became a space of reflection, learning, and renewal — where everyday people rediscovered their extraordinary strength.
For many, this was more than a camp — it was a homecoming. The weekend brought together members who form the heartbeat of the VICOBAPlus movement — with women leading the way, making up more than 95% of all participants.

Together, they revisited the DNA that defines their journey: mindset shift, community, livelihoods, and leadership. In small circles and open discussions, participants reflected on the journey from “What do I need?” to “What do I have?” — and how this simple but powerful shift continues to rebuild families, nurture confidence, and strengthen communities across Uganda.
The sessions wove learning with lived experience. Members practiced facilitation instead of teaching, shared stories of pole pole (slow but steady) growth, and dreamed together about the next chapter of inclusive, community-led change. Evenings came alive with song, storytelling, and laughter — each voice echoing the truth that every dream, no matter how small, matters.

One participant shared,
“Before I came here, I thought I had nothing to give. Now I see I am the resource my community has been waiting for.”
And this year, one image stood out — men and women standing together.
A group of men joined the camp not as observers, but as allies. Once skeptical of women gathering for empowerment, they now stood beside them — learning, supporting, and even facilitating. Their presence told a powerful story of transformation: leadership born from the courage of women who dared to rise first — and men who chose to rise with them.

By the end of the weekend, new dreams had been planted: small enterprises to strengthen families, mentorship circles for girls, and renewed commitments to lift others. As the closing circle filled with song and gratitude, one truth was clear — this was not the end of a camp, but the continuation of a movement.
From these women and men — working hand in hand — the VICOBAPlus fire keeps burning brighter, spreading from one heart, one community, and one dream to the next.
