Message from the Patrons – Christmas 2019

As new Patrons of Kitega we would like to take this opportunity to thank Silas and Janette, and Nicky and Jane for all their work over the last twenty years. Without their dreams, enthusiasm, drive and passion, Kitega Community Centre would not be as it is now.

New houses, new jobs, new locations and new opportunities, and as a family we have faced many of these this year.

We were greatly honoured to be asked to be the new Patrons of Kitega but it was only after much thought and many prayers that we accepted the challenge, and pray, with Gods guidance and direction, we can carry out our role to the very best of our ability.

Ally and Amy were delighted to be able to revisit Kitega earlier this year, taking their husbands (both Davids) with them for the first time.

The changes discovered from previous visits were so exciting and encouraging. It always brings us so much joy to hear and see the progress that is being made. It is especially heartwarming to hear of the amazing achievements of the children at the centre in particular discovering that the deaf children had performed recently at the National Theatre in Kampala.

While we were there we were fortunate enough to be part of the groundbreaking for the new Umoja House, which will provide many more facilities for the centre and community.

We are so honoured to be a part of this incredible charity and would like to thank everyone for the support and love they share with Kitega.

We are grateful that we have been able to set up a friends of Kitega group in Scotland to help keep all the Scottish volunteers up-to-date with everything that is happening at the centre and to share a little bit of the magical Kitega spirit even when we are so far away.

God loves us all and wants us to experience joy, love and success.
We can still find something to be grateful for even when things don’t go the way we hoped. By doing so we experience the love of God. No matter what life hands us, we can stay strong in our faith and never forget that God is with us.

Hebrews 11 Reminds us to have faith in God and amazing things can happen, and that is what we want, so let us work together to “Make it happen” at Kitega Community Centre.

Merry Christmas everyone and a very happy New Year

Amy, Jenny, Ally, David & David
